Greenish Blackish Thumb

Ok, I'll be the first to admit that I was not born with a green thumb.  At work I'm in charge of two plants and I've nearly killed them twice (within 3 months).

Justus and I want to have a vegetable garden someday and so we decided to start with a small planter on our balcony.  Herbs were our first attempt, but much to my dismay, we couldn't get them to grow.  I blamed it on my black thumb.  Last week we planted some green beans and.... look!  It sprouted!!!!!  Maybe my thumb is blackish greenish?

New Layout

I decided to be adventurous and try a new blog layout. What do you think? I found a fabulous website that has free blog layouts that are adorable. I decided on this one because I love how bright and cheerful it makes me feel. The only problem is now I can get the blogger bar to show up at the top... any suggestions. I've been through the layout and think I fix it and then find it's not there. Hhmmm, more tinkering to be done later.

Cub Scouts!

Justus and I have been asked to help with the Scouts in our ward. I'm the Wolf Den Leader and Justus is serving as the 11 year-old Scout Leader. I've always been grateful for Justus earning his Eagle, but now I'm especially grateful as I navigate my way through unknown territory. My den is a small group of 4, 8 year-old boys who are just plain squirrley. We have a good time and slowly I'll change from the cool YW leader into the goofy cool wolf den leader! I can't help but think of a quote from the move Troop Beverly Hills: "We don't need no stinkin' patches!"

Luke AFB Air Show

As many of you know, Justus loves aircraft. We have many books, cards, games, and other paraphenalia in our apartment. We even decided to have our wedding reception in an airplane hanger full of aircraft. A few weeks ago, Justus and I enjoyed the Annual Luke Air Force Base Air Show. It featured planes of many shapes, sizes, and purposes. Justus could comment more on the different planes and their cool features. The shows were also fantastic! We watched them do many stunts of varying degress of difficulty in awe. I'll try to have Justus comment more on this later. Highly recommend to go to one if you have the chance!
