Bountiful Baskets!!!

My favorite foods are vegetables and it is so great to be married to a man who loves healthy food as much as I do.  I heard about a great way to get more fruits and veggies in our life without a heavy price tag.

I'm so excited about the produce that we bought this week!  In Arizona, there is an co-op organization that buys/selects produce in bulk and then distributes it to it's participants  for a small fee.  Justus and I are looking forward to eating all of the wonderful fruits and vegetables.  The produce is rich in color and smells delicious!  This week we got strawberries, apples, key limes, red grapes, black grapes, bananas, asparagus, zucchini, lettuce, tomatoes, avocados, and a bag of potatoes.  We might not be able to eat all with just the two of us!

Purple Charm Quilt

My latest project has been a purple charm quilt, or at least a good attempt at one.  I've slowly collected about ten different samplings of purple fabric to create this quilt.  I decided to keep it simple by using only squares with two simple borders.  The main purpose of this project was ultimately distraction as quilting is one of the few hobbies that does not remind me of my dad.  It is far from perfect, but it means a lot to me.  I can't decide if I should keep it or if I should give it away.  I'm afraid that if I keep it the memory of what I was avoiding will stay strong.  The quilt is about half way done.  I need to do all of the hand-quilting and then lastly the binding around the edges.  I'll post a picture when I'm done.  It should be quite the quilt.
