First Anniversary

This past weekend, Justus and I celebrated our First Wedding Anniversary.   I surprised Justus by planning a secret trip at a secret location.  He didn't know where we were going until we got on the freeway.  We spent part of the weekend in Prescott, a smaller town just two hours North of Phoenix.  We enjoyed great Italian food at Papa Italiano's and amazing onion rings at Kendall's.  The black cherry ice-cream was my favorite above all the rest.  (Of course we're going to talk about the food first!)

We also enjoyed hanging out around town and strolling down Whisky Row.  No, we didn't step into any of the bars, but we did enjoy the Sharlot Hall Museum and browsing through the local bookstores.

We are so grateful for all of the love and support that we have been blessed with as a new family.  This year has had its share of ups and downs and we're proud to say, "Has it really been a year?"  We thought about trying to express our excitement by sending out thank you cards to everyone who gave us a wedding gift.  The sentiment would read something like: We would like to thank you for investing in the Gunther's.  We hope that our love and our commitment to each other reflect a good return on your investment.   However, we couldn't find the right words to say without it coming across in a bad way.  Well, it's the year that counts!

By the way, are we still considered newlyweds?
